Summer News Letter 2018

This years rally programme started very wet.  The Easter rally at Great Busby was a damp squid.  It rained and it rained and it was very very cold.  It is the first time I have know for a rally to be abandoned half way through.  One by one members were given into the elements and going home and you couldn’t blame them.  Even Linda & I were glad to be back home.  Hopefully that was a  one off and the rest of the year will be much warmer and dryer.

Northern Ralliers Camp site

I have written to several campsites that you have asked for but as usual I have only had a few replies.  One campsite owner wanted to see the clubs insurance papers exception certificate and the A.C.C.E.O membership number and on top of all that she wanted at lease 10 units on the rally at a cost of £16 per night.  Needles to say we will not be going.  Other campsite owners want to charge £15 for erecting the club tent.  I don’t think we will be going there either.  I have visited 2 campsites to find out the lay of the place.  John Haynes very kindly checked out a campsite on my behalf whilst on holiday in Wales.

I have 3 venues booked for next year.  I did receive 2 papers back from two members giving ideas for what rally venues they would like for next year. If you haven’t yet given me your rally ideas for next year then please do.  You can’t complain afterwards if the booked rallies are not to your liking.  I am now making progress on these rallies that the 2 people are interested in going to.  If all goes well and the various site owners are willing to take us in we should have around 20 venues to choose from.  I must say now that a few venues are ones we have been to before but there are new ones.

Are you interested in going to the Lincoln motorhome show in September?  Can you please let me know as soon as you can? It is a pre-booked rally and all monies must be paid in advance.

For those of you who may be going to the Gargrave rally.  Linda & I have booked ourselves on a day train to travel to Settle to Carlisle railway.  We travel on Monday September 17th at 10am.  If you would like to join us book your rail ticket as soon as you can.  The return trip for two is £33.90
